A 23-year coaching veteran, Jones most recently served as associate head coach and co-defensive coordinator at Texas Tech from 2020-21. Coached two All-Big 12 corners, including Philadelphia Eagle corner Zech McPhearson. Duke won 6 bowl games during the 12 years Coach Jones was there. He coached All-ACC corner Ross Cockrell and All-ACC Jamison Crowder, both future NFL draft picks.
